Set Up Custom Order Notifications

You can create custom order notifications to send to staff, vendors, suppliers, or any email address.

Create a notification

  1. Go to Tag Orders and create a rule (See Tag Orders if you're not familiar)
  2. Click the βœ‰οΈ mail icon next to the rule after it's created
  3. Add an email address and configure the email template

Options

πŸ•ΈοΈ Filter: you can set it to only include line items in the email that match the rule conditions

πŸ“‹ PDF attachment: attach a purchase order to the email, just like the one you can create in Shopify

πŸ“„ CSV attachment: attach a csv with the order / line item details

πŸ“§ Custom email sender: By default, notifications are sent from @orderautomator.com. If you want to have notifications sent from your store's domain, go to Auto Tag > Notification Settings.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Custom design: The notification template is completely customizable, has optional variables, and you can use CSS.

Why create custom order notifications?

Here are some common reasons people use this feature:

  • Automatically send orders to suppliers or dropshippers
  • Notify staff on big orders
  • Notify staff on a customer's first order or nth order
  • Monitor orders, for example high risk orders may warrant special attention

Testing

  1. Go to the Batch Process page
  2. In the Process 1 order section select these checkboxes:
    1. Process Tag Order rules
    2. Send notifications from Order Automator
  3. Paste the order ID of the order you want to test
  4. Click Process order
  5. Check your inbox, an email should arrive within 1 minute
