How it works
Connect Order Automator to your Seller Central account, then assign products that you want fulfilled by Amazon. When the feature is enabled, you can have orders from Shopify request fulfillment to Amazon.
Setup Steps
- Connect Order Automator to your Amazon Seller Central account(s)
- A fulfillment service called FBA [country] | Order Automator is created, then Shopify creates a location with that same name
- For products you want to be fulfilled by Amazon, assign those products to the new location:

- After you enable the feature, inventory syncs and now you can request fulfillment there (or use Order Automator Fulfill Rules to automatically request fulfillment)
- Shopify orders that get requested to be fulfilled by FBA will be created in Amazon as the order number + .1 (Example: #1000.1)
- After Amazon ships the order, Order Automator updates the Shopify order with the tracking number and marks it fulfilled
- The fulfillment action triggers the Shopify shipping notification to send to the customer
If you want a visual see How to Connect Shopify to Amazon for a video walkthrough.
Syncing
Inventory: Your Amazon FBA inventory syncs with Shopify every 10 minutes.
Order Tracking: Order Automator checks the status of your synced orders in Amazon every hour then adds tracking + fulfills the Shopify order after Amazon ships.
SKU Map
After you assign the FBA location to a product it shows up in the SKU Map, usually within 60 seconds:

If a product's SKU is different in Shopify and Amazon, enter the name of the Amazon SKU correlating to the Shopify SKU so Order Automator knows which product to request in Amazon.
Options
After you've connected your Amazon marketplace to Order Automator you'll see these options.
Enable
Enable or disable the feature. When enabled, fulfillment requests to the FBA | Order Automator location will get created in Amazon.
The first time you enable the feature, a fulfillment rule gets created in the Fulfillment Rules tab of the Auto Fulfill page.
- This is a default rule that will automatically request fulfillment of orders to Amazon if the assigned location is the FBA location. You can edit or delete the rule if it does not apply to your situation.
Notifications
Add a staff email address here to receive important notifications. Examples:
- If Amazon rejects an order unexpectedly (ex: unsupported shipping address) a notification gets sent to this email address
- If there is an order created in Amazon that later gets marked Unfulfillable
- An order is cancelled in Shopify but was already created in Amazon (needs to be cancelled or rerouted)
Shipping Options
By default the fulfillment request to Amazon will be made with Standard shipping.
If you use faster shipping methods, map the name of your Shopify shipping method(s) to the name of the Amazon shipping method.

If your marketplace supports it, you'll see these options:
- Ship packages in blank, non-Amazon boxes
- Block Amazon Logistics as a shipping carrier
Packing Slip Comments
If your marketplace supports it you'll see an option to customize the packing slip Amazon includes in the shipment.

Additional Notes
Cancelling Orders: Amazon generally fulfills orders pretty quickly. If you cancel the request in Shopify but the Amazon order was already created, the Amazon order will not be cancelled.
- You'll receive an email at the contact saved in the Amazon tab in Order Automator
- Log into Seller Central to see if you can still cancel the order, or contact Amazon Support if it's already in progress.
