App Troubleshooting

It's rare to experience downtime with the app. Order Automator is 5+ years old, well managed, and has various backup systems in place.

If you're experiencing something out of the ordinary, it's most likely a temporary issue.

Check shopifystatus.com to see if there's a reported incident.

User interface issues

Order Automator is an official Built for Shopify App. This means that it has "cleared Shopify’s highest quality bar", and it's embedded directly into your Shopify admin.

If something isn't working as you expect (ex: a page not loading), it's most likely a temporary issue that will resolve by refreshing the page.

Here are some other potential causes:

  • There's a temporary outage in your region. Check shopifystatus.com
  • There's a random cookie / cache issue with your browser
    • Try either clearing cookies or opening in another browser to rule that out

If those don't solve it, send us the following information to help see why:

  • Your myshopify url or store ID
  • Screenshot of the page
  • Any relevant details (has this happened before, what sequence of events led you there, etc)

Order processing delays

Most orders will get processed by Order Automator within 20 seconds of the order being created in your store + the delay time you have set on the Dashboard page of the app.

If you're seeing a delay, here are the most common reasons:

  • Shopify throttled requests because the store's API limits were reached (ex: a surge of orders or activity)
    • This forces the app to reschedule orders from this period to a later time (usually within an hour)
  • Delay receiving the order data (webhooks usually get received within seconds, but not always)
  • Random Shopify outage that causes a chain of events that can cause delays

If you're seeing regular delays and unable to identify the problem, send us the following information and we'll try to help you identify the reason:

  • Your myshopify url or store ID
  • A screenshot of what you see in the shopifystatus.com page
  • Any relevant details (an order ID, when it started happened, how long was the delay, etc)
